Project Information
What is this Project about?

Open value chains are expected to stimulate an increased diversity of content and services. Therefore it is important and useful to evaluate business models and see the new possibilities in open value chains to meet increasing competition in areas TelCo’s previously have dominated. To gain a competitive edge in the market place as open value chains are introduced, it will become essential for Telcos to understand service dependencies, roles and actors involved in service delivery, relevant business models and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in open service platforms.

What are the main objectives of this Project?

  • To analyse trends for economic opportunities, regulatory constraints, business models and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in the business market regarding the opening of value chains.

  • To assess business models and SLAs in the business market based on a framework. The potential roles that Telcos can take will be discussed, considering selected scenarios for specific market segments and client/customer characteristics.

What are the key results for this Project?

The project will provide insight to the options TelCos have in an open value chain environment, and summarises the aspects an operator should consider in positioning itself in an open value chain scenario.

What relationship exists to other organisations or bodies?

None.
